What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in India, combining elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.
It’s fun, easy to learn, and great for all ages.
Basic Pickleball Rules
1. The Serve
- The serve must be underhand and hit below the waist.
- Serve diagonally into the opponent’s service box.
- Only one serve attempt is allowed (except for let serves).
2. Scoring System
- Games are usually played to 11 points, win by 2.
- Only the serving team can score points.
- Points are awarded when the receiving team commits a fault.
3. The Two-Bounce Rule
- After the serve, the ball must bounce once on each side before volleys (hitting the ball in the air) are allowed.
- This encourages longer rallies and makes the game beginner-friendly.
4. No-Volley Zone (aka “The Kitchen”)
- A 7-foot zone on both sides of the net.
- You cannot volley the ball while standing inside this zone.
- You can step in to hit the ball after it bounces.
5. Faults
- Hitting the ball out of bounds
- Not clearing the net
- Volleying from the kitchen
- Violating the two-bounce rulePickleball Court Dimensions
- Size: 20 ft x 44 ft (same for singles and doubles)
- Net height: 36 inches at the sides, 34 inches in the middle
